인생의 한 장면이 모여, 한 권의 책이 되다.
〈인생 한 권〉은 2025-2026년 2개년에 걸쳐 운영되는 서사 기반 참여 프로그램으로, 대안공간 샐리 2층에 마련된 ‘그만의 작은 방’에서 개인과 공동체의 이야기를 기록하는 과정으로 시작된다. 2025년에는 참여자의 생애 경험을 바탕으로 한 비정형 인터뷰를 통해 이야기를 수집하고, 이를 기반으로 2026년에 제작될 옴니버스 드로잉 북의 파일럿 버전을 선보인다. 결과공유 전시에서는 기록된 이야기 중 1-2편을 선정하여 드로잉 작가의 재해석과 시민 참여 색칠을 더한 예시 모델을 완성해 공개한다. 이 프로젝트는 한 사람의 삶에서 포착된 장면이 작가의 드로잉을 거쳐 또 다른 참여자의 색채적 개입을 통해 새로운 문화적 서사로 확장되는 과정을 탐구한다. 누군가의 이야기를 듣고, 그 이야기가 지닌 한 장면을 그림으로 옮기고, 다시 이를 채색하며 완성해가는 일련의 과정은 단순한 기록을 넘어 개인-타인-공동체로 순환하는 문화적 흐름을 만들어낸다. 이 경험을 통해 참여자는 자신의 일상적 경험이 곧 문화의 중심이 될 수 있음을 체감하게 되며, 문화예술 향유의 경계는 보다 유연하고 열린 형태로 확장된다. 〈인생 한 권〉은 누군가의 삶의 조각이 여러 사람의 손을 거쳐 한 권의 책으로 태어나고, 다시 공동의 기억으로 귀환하는 과정을 통해 ‘생활과 문화의 멈춤 없는 이어짐’을 탐색하고 경험하는 프로젝트이다.
A Book of One’s Own A life becomes a book of its moments A Book of One’s Own is a two-year, narrative-based participatory program (2025-2026) that begins by recording personal and communal stories inside a small studio on the second floor of Alternative Space SALLY. In 2025, the project focuses on collecting life stories through open-ended interviews, forming the foundation for an omnibus drawing book to be produced in 2026. For the exhibition, one or two selected stories are reinterpreted through an artist’s drawings and completed with citizen-participation coloring, presented as pilot models of the future book. The project explores how a single moment drawn from one person’s life can expand into a new cultural narrative through the artist’s visual interpretation and the chromatic intervention of another participant. Listening to someone’s story, translating a memorable scene into drawing, and completing it through coloring becomes a process that exceeds documentation, forming a cultural flow that circulates from individual → others → community. Participants come to recognize that their everyday experiences can serve as the very center of culture, and the boundaries of cultural engagement become softer, more open, and more accessible. Ultimately, A Book of One’s Own examines how fragments of a person’s life travel through many hands to become a single book-and how that book, in turn, returns to the shared memory of the community. It is a project that experiences and reimagines the seamless continuity between everyday life and culture.
